Biological control of crown gall
Contact for SalesWhat is Crown Gall?
Crown gall is a bacterial disease caused by Agrobacterium tumefaciens. It produces rough, woody galls on roots and stems that can disrupt vascular tissue and weaken young plants.
Crown gall is primarily a nursery issue and affects a wide range of woody plants, fruit crops, vines, and ornamentals.
The Solution: DYGALL
DYGALL is a biological inoculant containing a non-pathogenic strain of Agrobacterium radiobacter (strain K84). It is registered in Canada under the Pest Control Products Act for the control of crown gall.
DYGALL must be applied before exposure to crown gall to be effective.
Why Choose DYGALL?
- Biological: Uses a naturally occurring, non-pathogenic bacterium
- Preventative: Helps prevent establishment of crown gall when applied before infection
- Registered: Approved for commercial nursery use in Canada
- Compatible: Intended to complement good sanitation and nursery management practices

How DYGALL Works
DYGALL introduces Agrobacterium radiobacter strain K84 to plant roots and wounds before planting. The beneficial bacterium occupies ecological niches and competes with pathogenic Agrobacterium tumefaciens, reducing the likelihood of infection.
Important: DYGALL is a preventative, not a cure. It will not control existing crown gall infections and must be applied before exposure.
